1. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP

  1. Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and separate the boot clamp.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP

  1. Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and separate the boot clamp.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



3. SEPARATE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT BOOT

  1. Separate the inboard joint boot from the inboard joint grommet.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE INBOARD JOINT ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the old grease from the inboard joint.

  1. Place matchmarks on the inboard joint and outboard joint shaft.

    NOTICE:
    Do not cause any damage when placing the marks.

  1. Remove the inboard joint from the outboard joint shaft.

  1. Fix the outboard joint shaft in a vise between aluminum plates.

    NOTICE:
    Do not overtighten the vise.

  1. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.

  1. Place matchmarks on the tripod joint and outboard joint shaft.

    NOTICE:
    Do not cause any damage when placing the marks.

  1. Using a brass bar and hammer, remove the tripod joint.

    NOTICE:
    Do not tap the rollers.

  1. Remove the No. 2 inboard joint boot clamp, the inboard joint boot and the inboard joint boot clamp.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE INBOARD JOINT GROMMET

  1. Remove the inboard joint grommet from the inboard joint.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DAMPER CLAMP (for RH Side)

  1. One touch type:

    1. Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the damper clamp and separate the damper clamp.

  1. Claw engagement type:

    1. Using needle-nose pliers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the damper clamp.

  1. Remove the front drive shaft damper from the front axle outboard joint shaft assembly.



7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 AXLE OUTBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP

  1. Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and remove the boot clamp.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



8. REMOVE FRONT AXLE OUTBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMP

  1. Using a screwdriver, release the staked part of the boot clamp and remove the boot clamp.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



9. REMOVE FRONT AXLE OUTBOARD JOINT BOOT

  1. Remove the outboard joint boot from the outboard joint shaft.

  1. Remove the old grease from the outboard joint.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



10. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HOLE SNAP RING LH

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring.



11. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT HOLE SNAP RING RH

HINT:
Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.



12. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DUST COVER

  1. Using SST and a press, remove the dust cover.

    NOTICE:
    Do not drop the inboard joint.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
